Mark is a seasoned public health professional with over three decades of experience in the HIV/AIDS field. His extensive career spans program development, management, and grants administration, with 30 years dedicated to overseeing HIV/AIDS-related programs and 23 years specializing in both pre- and post-award grants processes.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from the University of Massachusetts – Boston and began his public health career in 1992 at the AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts, Inc., where he managed essential service programs for individuals living with HIV/AIDS. In 2002, he joined Harvard University as the Senior Program Manager for the Botswana-Harvard AIDS Institute Partnership, contributing to international HIV/AIDS research and capacity-building efforts.
Since 2006, Mark has served as the Administrative Director of the Harvard University Center for AIDS Research (CFAR), where he is responsible for overseeing daily operations, supporting interdisciplinary research, and ensuring the effective management and strategic development of the Center’s programs. His leadership has played a crucial role in advancing collaborative HIV research and strengthening the Center’s overall impact in the field.
